The Adidas brand was born in Bavaria where it is still based today. It all started in 1924 when Adolf Dassler began producing football boots, subsequently, with his brother Rudolf Dassler, they founded the Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik (Dassler brothers' shoe factory) where Adolf took care of physically making the shoes, while the management and distribution was entrusted to Rudolf.
After the Second World War, the two brothers split up, both founding their own brand: Rudolf founded Ruda (from the first two letters of his name and surname) which would later become what we all know today as Puma.
Adolf instead founded Adidas (using the first three letters of his nickname and the first three of his surname). The brand, represented by the logo with the classic three stripes, was officially registered on 18 August 1949 as Adidas AG. In the following years Adidas acquired other brands, such as Reebok in 2006.
The logo with the Trefoil which symbolizes the Olympic spirit, arrived at a later time, exactly in 1972.
Among the other famous collaborations, numerous entertainment and music personalities stand out. One of the latest which achieved enormous success was the collaboration with the stylist and rapper Kanye West for the creation of the Yeezy line. There are many rappers and hip hop groups such as Run DMC, Jay Z, Puff Daddy and Snoop Dogg who have worn Adidas clothing during appearances or on the stages of their concerts, increasing the brand's notoriety.
Adidas has long been the official supplier of balls for the World Cup, the European Championship, the Europe League and various football competitions. Furthermore, the Adidas brand became the technical sponsor of numerous football teams, subsequently also of other sports.
The range of products offered by Adidas ranges from sneakers, to curved visor and flat visor caps and bucket hats with the Trefoil logo on the front, to clothing for men and women.
Among the clothing, the standout products are the tracksuits with the classic three side stripes, which recall the models proposed in past years, the track jackets perfect for autumn and spring, also inspired by the models in vogue in the 80s and 90's.
